Psychic vs. Medium
People often get confused when defining the difference between a Psychic and a Medium. There's a difference? Yep. While mediums are psychic, not all psychics are mediums. It's true. Unfortunately, when clients ask me to connect with departed loved ones, I have to tell them: "I'm sorry, I'm not a medium. I'm "Medium Rare." I may be able to see and talk with the other side, but I'm not a "medium-on-tap." The distinction between a psychic and a medium can be subtle since they both work on the same level, but there are fundamental differences between their abilities and gifts.
First of all, mediums, who are clairvoyant, do the same things as a psychic. Still, they can also channel communication from spirit guides, angels, teachers, and loved ones who have crossed over by allowing spiritual and intuitive messages to flow through them.
A medium reads messages from the spirits from the afterlife and transmits those messages or signals to the client. The messages are usually clear and need little translation since the information includes abundant validation letting the client know that the medium is legitimate. Mediums also use many different methods to achieve their connections, including meditation, shamanic journeying, and chanting, to name a few. A medium serves as a channel between the living world and the afterlife, which is beyond a psychic's abilities.
On the other hand, the word "psychic" comes from the Greek word, "Psyche," which means "breath of life," as well as "breath of soul or spirit." A psychic connects with a person's soul through the client's aura energy field (an extension of the body) and reads information about the person's past, present, and possible future.
A psychic reads and process the insight they receive concerning relationships, career, money, or love and then translate what they pick up into real-life everyday language and meaning. At the same time, many mediums cannot read Tarot Cards or harness the power of other spiritual channels, such as crystal balls, runes, or different types of oracle cards, a psychic can.
The bottom line: When psychics give "readings," they are reading you and your aura energy field. When mediums give "readings," they relay messages from the other side.
